August 29, 2019 - Dinner at Cambridge

The weather was perfect this summer Thursday afternoon so I asked Bruce B. if he wanted to fly with me over to Cambridge for dinner at Kay's, the on-field restaurant.

First, we landed at Martin State Airport where I bought 20 gallons of gas at the self-service pump.  But my real purpose was to find out if they had a $22 landing fee which someone at the Skypark had announced they had.  There was nothing about it on the Martin State Airport website.  The tower didn't say anything, and there was no notice on the fuel pump.  Weeks later I have not received a bill in the mail.  I guess it was just fake news.

It was a pleasant flight down to Cambridge.  While we were enjoying a delicious crab cake dinner,  Marine One made a landing approach!  I was hoping President Trump was going to come into Kay's for dinner but no, it was just the pilots practicing I guess.

I was thinking it wouldn't get dark until 8:30 but the sun was already below the horizon as we transited back to Essex Skypark around 8PM.

Still, it was very pretty.

Car headlights are visisble on Highway 50.

There was still some light, but not much, when we landed at Essex Skypark.  It was a very nice, pleasant evening to fly.
